Great that I was able to stand in the middle of the street and take these two photos.
The Church is the Church of Apostles a Catholic Church, and behind that Church is where I went to school when my parents and I moved to Launceston many years ago.
The above photo is looking towards the town clock.
In another street up the hill..
The building below is a Motel and was once the Grammar School.
That motel looks very pretty!

DeleteNo, I didn't grow up in this city - I was 15 when first came to Launceston.
I gather there was not much traffic, to make the shots in the middle of the street...Every precaution is little.

No traffic because it was Good Friday. Never would I take a photo on a busy day or half busy day..

DeleteThere are many smaller towns in the US we've visited which bear a resemblance to this one. I suspect we'd feel right at home. Nice shots.

Is an attractive city. There are quite a lot of trees in the long shots.
ReplyDeleteLots of trees Andrew. The ones on the immediate left are in the Prince's Park, the others of course are on the hill as we see. Everyone has a tree or two it seems in either their front or backyard, or even the nature strip.

It's a small city, second largest for Tasmania. Have showed in the photos the outer streets.
DeleteHave been to Sydney but only have driven through and that was a Sunday both times.
I will be travelling to Launceston in July we fly into Launceston and will do some travelling around and fly out of Hobart a week later.

Launceston would have been an ideal place to be brought up in. It looks so neat and clean.
