This is where I first used the washing machine in the caravan, and it was bliss.
The caravan park we stayed in was really wonderful. A selection of photos I have chosen to view, at times it was difficult to select. 'which one'.
Renmark is on the banks of the Murray River, plenty of houses boats to have a holiday in if one wishes. It's a rural town 31 meters above sea level.
Just out of Renmark many vineyards and a few mandarins on the trees, ready to be picked.

In the town these fountains of a different type. One can walk all the way around on a footpath with grass on one side and water on the other.

DeleteI like the fountain and the hotel is very large and I think there are a few such hotels spread along the Murray.

ReplyDeleteI remember swapping a bottle of cognac (which neither of us liked) for our first washing machine. We got the better end of the deal. Moving away from hand washing and laundromats was blissful.
They are very different fountains.. Wonderful sunsets whilst we were there and if in the correct place the lights from the Hotel can be seen.

DeleteOne sheet at a time with the little washing machine...only takes 38 minutes to do a load. It does wash clean.

Not sure Angel would enjoy it though. Surrounded by water is not a cat's idea of heaven.
I suppose some people have cats that live on a house boat..

ReplyDeleteThose houses are Cabins :) They are not made of wood, and we call them Cabins. Majority of Caravan Parks in Australia have some.

ReplyDeleteIt did just fine. That photo was taken on the way up to Darwin, a long way from Renmark. However, the caravan looks just the same - thank goodness :)

ReplyDeleteJo-Anne, so much different from what I have seen in the past...no. there was nothing and the caravan parks were not the best back then either. Not that I travelled in a caravan way back.

LOL! :) I am smiling because I used to have a pet rat years ago and I called him Mickey. The reason I chose Mickey for a name is because everyone is familiar with Mickey Mouse, so here he was...Mickey Rat! They are very sociable and intelligent, actually. The ones to fear more are the hamsters, as they are more likely to bite than rats or gerbils.

We stayed in one of those cabins a couple of years ago on our way back from Adelaide. Truly magical spot on the river. Loving your photos. The colours and mood that you are able to capture are beautiful.
