Lake Leake is the name of both a lake and a small township in the
eastern midlands of Tasmania. The lake can hold 22.076 gigaliters of
water. The lake was named after Charles Henry Leake a member of the
Tasmanian Legislative Council.
The lake is used for recreational fishing, for brook trout, brown trout and rainbow trout.
The village is built on land owned by the Northern Midlands Council.
Inhabitants must purchase a license to have a building there, are
restricted in the number of days per year they can live there. The main
purpose is to accommodate recreational anglers.
The photos are taken in Winter, which is now. I like these photos I took as they are simple.
The lake looks so calm but sad because nobody is here. I understand because is winter. I can't believe it because in Europe we have some snow or frost in winter. It reminds me spring or autumn.
ReplyDeleteLooks tranquil.
DeleteThere were a few people there in their shacks keeping warm. It can snow at Lake Leake but it's certainly not often, and not every year. If it does snow there it's just a dusting.
Very beautiful reflections in the lake this time of year. Remembering you and your Father in prayer.
