After the Bush Fires. Coonabarabran. NSW

Many properties were destroyed in the bush fires in January 2013 up on the Timor Rd, West of Coonabarabran in NSW. The Telescopes were saved and the photos I took were taken 6 months later.

  1. Fire is devastating. I am glad the bush fires are in the past and I hope that they don't happen again. The photos are a testament to the devastation.

  4. What a drama. I am surprised that it is so difficult to fight these fires. If you don't succeed one year, I would think that they would put in more resources for the next year to avoid this.

    1. It's very difficult to fight the fires in Australia, the country is vast, it's about the size of Europe apparently. Fires here begin often by lightening in the bush and because it's so hot and very windy off the fire goes. Usually in a different area and often in the same State. The front of a fire is enormous, but then many towns are far, far away so they are not in the path of a fire.
So due to our terrain fires are unavoidable here in Australia, it's a way of life :)
