We went to buy some cherries at a cherry orchard north of home here in Launceston, Tasmania. Then ventured onto a strawberry farm and bought some, and off for a drive we went down the Tamar River way. Firstly the photos are taken from the Windermere Road on the way to Swan Bay. It was a warm day but being in the car with the air conditioner was much better than being home sitting with the air conditioner on. We were gone 3 hours, called into the supermarket on the way home and got a few items that were on special. I don't always buy specials only if I need them.
A name of a property and the number.

It looks picturesque!
ReplyDeleteIt was a lovely drive seeing the scenery in the country, it doesn't take long to get to farmland from where we live, Angie.
DeleteBeautiful photos of a truly beautiful area.
ReplyDeleteIt's very warm where you are, but here it was very cold with lots of snow and icy roads, making walking almost impossible.
I wish you a wonderful Wednesday.
Best regards Irma
Oh my, that is not so good when you like walking in your country, Irma. I wouldn't enjoy it if I thought I might slip on the ice at my age. However, I would enjoy the snow.
DeleteThe temperature down here is not too bad as in being hot, not like some places which have over 40 deg C. Mostly ours during the day is 23 C to 27 C, that is what is forecast this week, so that is pleasant. Night is cooler 12 C to 15 C.
Thanks re photos.
G’day, mate.
ReplyDeleteI love all the photos posted here. Were they taken with a wide-angle lens on a digital camera like a Canon or Nikon? They look stunning and really cool. I still remember my first bite of cherries from my childhood in Jakarta in the mid-1970s, long before many of you were born! That’s all
A warm regards from Indonesia
These photos were taken with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, I had misplaced my battery charger for the Canon SLR and Nikon but have since found.
DeleteAh! The taste of cherries, so many varieties but I love Van, nice and big and juicy.
I was born long before you :)
You live in a wonderful landscape, Margaret. The pictures you show are beautiful. Cherries always taste so good. There is a big difference between where we live, but it is so nice that we have become acquainted through the blog.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Thank you Marit. I think you live in a wonderful place, I suppose because I've never been there and only seen a few photos of your country over time so it's just wonderful to see your photos, and how you go about protecting your plants, your daily life, to me it's just great.
DeleteFresh cherries and strawberries! I LOOVE IT.
ReplyDeleteYummy, finished the strawberries and nearly finished the cherries by 2 packets and will probably go back for more cherries one day this week, the season is later this year.
DeleteChe bello avere la possibilità di andare a prendere la frutta direttamente da chi la produce. Così avete anche approfittato per farvi un giro in mezzo alla natura, nonostante il caldo
ReplyDeleteYes we are lucky to have the cherry orchid not too far from home here, and also the strawberries and raspberry farm are just a little further along the same road. The season is late this year for the cherries. Once went up the mountain on a 30 deg C day in the afternoon was much cooler up there, though I do like the warm weather as long as I don't have to do much work in it.
DeleteBeautiful scenery. Is it hot there?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anne. It's warm, this week the daily temperature is forecast to be between 23 to 27 deg C. Sometimes it will get hotter but not that often, up to 35 deg C.
DeleteSuch a pretty area. Sounds like you had a good days venture. Always enjoy your pictures, as it's a place I know I will never see with my own 2 eyes.
ReplyDeleteSandy's Space
Thank you, Sandy. I always enjoy seeing what you are doing, your scenery and your art work. (Crochet) Nice driving in the country on warm days.
DeleteThe land looks really nice.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice out that way, Mary but when I come to think of it, it's lovely all over the place.
DeleteA leisurely and practical afternoon, enjoying fresh cherries and strawberries, a scenic drive along the Tamar via Windermere Road to Swan Bay, and making sensible use of the trip by picking up a few needed supermarket specials on the way home
ReplyDeleteYes, that is all true and done in one day as well. We have since ventured out to Longford to the meat works shop to by some meat.
DeleteThe farm is surrounded be a lovely countryside. I like your photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Several farms out that way, it's windy and a bit hilly. Sheep, cattle and crops, Giorgio.
DeleteThe hay is cut and baled and all ready to be loaded onto a truck and put in a hayshed. That property looks valuable.
ReplyDeleteYes, most of Tasmanian farms cost the earth to buy. At least they didn't get any rain before they moved those bales, but it's raining as I type, thank goodness as it's been awhile since it did.
DeleteMagnificent and pristine countryside.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful looking homestead.
Good looking flock of sheep grazing.
Cheers
Colin
They have plenty of good feed there Colin. Lovely farms out that way. We are fortunate to have lush (usually) green fields for the sheep and cattle so hence smaller farms not like the sprawling ones up north.
DeleteIt looks so peaceful there.
ReplyDeleteIt was R, lovely and quiet, had the window down at times and when I got out to take some of the photos, you could just hear nature at it's best.
DeleteSon muy lindas el paisaje enamora. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThank you J.P. It is lovely there.
DeleteAproveitou as belas produções da imensa Austrália.
ReplyDeleteContinuação deboa semana.
Abraço de amizade.
Juvenal Nunes
I love the pictures, and the words. I wish we were there.
ReplyDeleteAs I have said before, after two visits to Australia, were I to move there it would be to Tasmania. I wouldn’t have to think twice!
