Black and White in Bowen, Queensland.

First evening in Bowen in Queensland we headed to a Marina, it was a lovely still evening so we sat on a seat and watch the sun go down.

Have a few photos in colour and black and white - a vast difference.

  1. Pelicans are big birds. I want to see them directly. Thanks for sharing.

    1. They are big yet graceful. Hopefully one day you will get to see them in person.

  2. Love that pelican. Near Tampa all we see are brown pelicans, and while they are a trip to watch, it's a treat to drive south where there are white pelicans. They are so pristine looking. Amazing. Common and ignored by my neighbors south...aint it funny.

    1. Yes it's odd, have only seen a photo of a brown pelican, never seen one in person.

  5. Love the pelican. Isn't it interesting how much more 'texture' black and white photos have?

    1. A lot more texture in black and white photos, it's certainly different and to remember once there was only black and white.

  9. What a beautiful bird the Pelican is - I actually prefer the coloured one - the beak is such a pretty shade of pink against the blue of the water.

    1. Pretty colour and it appears to be a pale salmon colour.

  10. Such a difference! I certainly prefer seeing blue water and sky. May I save that first picture for the colour? That blue is the exact shade I'd like for a carpet one day.

  11. I like the monochromes a lot! They are very successful and frameworthy! But I always enjoy seeing where you've been in color.

    1. Always good to have the two. Colour shows more what a place is like I think.

    1. Many of the pelicans in fishing places are often rather tame and come quite close to humans, they are looking for food.
