Photos of Coffs Harbour, NSW

After Ballina we headed to Coffs Harbour in Winter 2016 for about 1 weeks visit.  I have a cousin and his wife who live there so it was a good time to catch up with them.

Coffs Harbour is a city on the north coast of New South Wales, Australia. It’s known for its beaches and the Big Banana monument and amusement park. In the waters off Coffs Harbour Marina is the Solitary Islands Marine Park, home to abundant wildlife, seasonal whales and coral reefs. Just east is the Muttonbird Island Nature Reserve, with its large population of wedge-tailed shearwater birds and learning centre.
Coffs Harbour's economy was once based mainly on bananas, now being superseded by blueberries as well as tourism and fishing.

The beach below is Jetty Beach.

Another beach below, and don't know who those people are.

  1. I have an open invitation to visit and stay in Sydney as long as I wish. The duration of the flight has deterred me from accepting my cousins’ invitation – 23- 25h flight plus stops!!!

All of my friends who visited or lived in Australia for a while fell in love with the land. They came back… but love to talk about their wonderful experiences in that beautiful country of yours.

    1. A long flight indeed a deterrent of many I'm afraid.
Certainly a different country is Australia from the photos of other countries I've seen.

  5. Glorious stretch of coastline! I love how approachable looking the police station is - nothing like our formidable old stations!

  9. Great stretch of coastline. Some of the beaches are NOT patrolled thus no surfers unless they have a death wish.
Certainly the two beaches shown or maybe only one from a different angle are TOO big for surf patrols to operate.
Coffs in a great holiday destination for families as there are enclosed beach areas for the young ones - like the under 5 brigade.
    Great report.
    Cheers

  12. Blueberries grow well here and I am surprised that they grow up there. Both the police station and the courthouse are adventurous architecture.

  13. I was surprised re blueberries too, must be inland where it's cooler that they are grown.
Police Station is rather adventurous in colour, it was just across the road from where we were staying.
