Further North NSW

On the way from Finley to Forbes - well it rained most of the way, it was winter.
The cows grazing on the side of the road.
Caravan Park at Forbes NSW where is was wet also, the spot we had was a bit boggy but ok. Photo of some of the cabins in the Caravan Park plus our Caravan and vehicle.
The tree done in HDR for a change as it brings out those winter colours in the leaves.

We passed a few towns along the way but it wasn't always convenient to stop and take photos, we were heading north to the warmth in winter.

Tree in HDR

Forbes is where the marker is.

  1. moooooooooo

My family cliche was to moo or snicker any time we passed farm animals. Quacks were frequent too.

    1. We don't see that many farm animals on the way up that highway.

  3. I like the HDR picture of the tree, almost like a painting. Is it difficult to do?

    1. The HDR is done with software which I don't use often enough...it's the matter of selecting which HDR you prefer, sometimes that in itself is a bit difficult.

  5. Love that colour.
Poor Forbes got a lot wetter. And is probably still cleaning up.

  6. Ah - north of Finley - ha ha. Glad you recalled my views,
This is MY area for 10 years. Great rural pastures when it rains!
Wheat, sheep and beef country. Good to see the Murray Grey breeds
in that herd - can almost taste the steaks.
Noted the map - the Newel highway crossing the Great Western at West Wyalong.
Hope you carefully negotiated the causeways that are in that area, they certainly
can cause many an accident when speeding......... cars aren't meant to fly!
Great reporting.......... off south on Tuesday to get R & R after the shock
    in the USA!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. Long stretches of straight road with hardly any bends, just a few curves - always have to be cautious.

  7. HDR is high resolution? my niece always makes remarks about photos not being high res so they're not as good, and I have no idea what she means, but that tree looks marvelous.

    1. HDR = High Dynamic Range.
High Resolution = Pixels in an inch, so hence more pixels the better the quality.

  8. Lovely trip but long (Australia is so huge).
HDR-tree looks nice, and the cows in rain looks also nice.

  10. Not the best weather for travelling but you were headed for nicer weather, I hope. The cabins look comfy. We used to stay in cabins when we did road trips, saved dragging a van but dearer too.

    1. The weather up north was warm of course but didn't see a great deal of sun until we started to come back south.
Cabins are alright in the warmer places, but would never stay in one when it's cooler would rather a motel/hotel.
