Cardwell, Queensland.

We are now settled into a Caravan park in Cairns and loving the warm winter tropical weather at about 29 degC (84.2 deg F) during the day and 20 degC (68deg F) at night.
The mileage from Launceston to Cairns is about 3,500 km ( 2,174.799 miles) give or take a few, depends which route ones comes.

A photo of Cardwell which is not that far below Cairns. We stayed there for two nights.
Cardwell has changed in many respects.   A cyclone came ripping through the town in 2011.
The foreshore has been done beautifully.  Houses rebuilt, some escaped the cyclone.

It's the Coral Sea, and part of Hinchinbrook Island where a special Lady once lived.

    1. Thee temperature up here in Cairns even thought it 29 deg C most days it's not the same heat as Tasmanian summers if it was about the same temperature - much hotter in Tasmania.

  9. Funny how some parts of the country can have such high temperatures in winter big difference from the cold as days in Tassie, which I will experience next week when we fly there for a holiday

    1. Diane, I'm so pleased we are in the warmth, away from the dreadful cold weather down south.

  14. Certainly warmer than down south this morning.
Snowing in Hobart and Canberra and snow just outside Melbourne
and Adelaide with winds that are going straight through those
who have to be outside. Also some roads closed due to the icy
    roads.
Thankfully the winds haven't reached Brisbane YET!!!!!!,
but bloody freezing August is not that far away,
Keep having fun in the WARMTH.
    Cheers
    Colin

  15. That sounds like the perfect temperature range. It's currently about 13 here in Adelaide, but the sun is shining again after two days of rain and wild winds.
