The Sunsets at the beach

We have been away down the East Coast of Tasmania for a week, arrived home today.  We stayed in the caravan in caravan parks at different towns along with way. The shower works well.
Had a baked dinner cooked in the gas oven, was delicious and turkey once again.

It's good that I could still read blogs and comment, however the previous posts were done in advance. The Google App for blogging isn't much good for uploading photos, it usually manages one photo, odd occasion 3 so it's best not used till it's improved, plus there is the data that ones uses whilst travelling, home has much more.
Took my crochet with me but never got any done.
The caravan is comfortable and the only thing that I have to do is use the washing machine to see if it works ok.

There is a map of Tasmania below and it shows where we have been this past week.

The above photo at sunset was taken looking towards St. Helens facing west.

Same place as above.  There was a boy about 10 years old who was watching the sunset beside me, he was very friendly, he lived across the road and would see this view from his parents house.

This photo was taken at another beach on the opposite side of the point, so the sun is setting behind me.

The above photo taken on the opposite side of the point as well, lots of sand dunes that go for miles/km to the right.  There are competitions or whatever they are called held there in the summer time.  It's not long till winter, only a matter of days now.

The black lines are where we went this past week.  If can be enlarged.

  2. I bet you have been all over Tasmania by now. Will you take the caravan to the mainland on the ferry one day? Maybe you have already.

    1. No, Tasmania is too big to travel all over...I know it looks small on the map. Takes months to travel it well.

    1. Thanks.
The washing machine is only small but it will come in handy for a few light things. The caravan is like like home really, but of course smaller inside. It's always 'excuse me, I want to go through there' :) manners is a must in that caravan..

  8. Margaret. - The beach racing is done on bikes and in dune buggies.
Big time in some areas - I am not sure if it is good for the beaches with
the ripping up of the sand, however it is a good way to break a few bones
and spend your holidays in a hospital ward!!!
I think the camping islands off the coast from BNE and environs, sand buggy
racing has been banned. The idiots were having 4WD races up the beaches and ripping
up all the sand - plus the number of crashes and people being hit.

Interesting area toured - the Tasman side,
I wonder if from a prominent vantage point could you be able to see the
SYD/HBT fleet from Boxing Day sail past or would the yachts be too
    far out to sea.

Looks like plenty of practice close to home before the mainland adventure.
What you are doing is very wise - being fully prepared.
    Cheers
    Colin

    1. Off Road Racing they call it down here on the Dunes...there is a sandy road there and you see if you wish to look on youTube - Peron Dunes - a meeting there in June I think.
When I did this post it was late at night and I couldn't for the life of me think what the racing was called. This is what happens when you get old!!

As being able to see the yachts, I doubt it as they would be too far out to sea.

Yes two trips away to practice to iron out any faults - just a couple of things needed to be done before we take off on the ferry late next month.

  11. When we travel I look for caravan parks that have free wi fi and of course I take my laptop with me can't go anywhere without the laptop. I keep suggesting to Tim that we take a holiday to Tassie but he keeps putting it off if he wanted to go there it would be a different matter I reckon

  13. Beautiful beach scenes. Do many people go camping/caravanning in winter? I guess yours is warm with the reverse cycle zircon.

    1. Thanks Diane. we saw a lot of caravans on the road going don't know where. Many from Queensland, Perth, WA, SA...interesting really for the cold weather. Plenty of spaces in the caravan parks though, some people ho to free parks.
yes, reverse cycle Aircon....we put that on first for heat, then use a small fan heater but turn the other off...
