Some Targa Cars

Targa is a Car Race on the Island of Tasmania. It's held in late April and finishes in early May.
Most car can enter as long as specifications are approved. Roll bars and so on.
The Race is held in stages in various areas of Tasmania.
Last year and this year a Tasmanian won the Race..

I took a few photos from a street view well after the race was over...

    1. For the men and boys it's fun. I'm not into car racing :)

  3. The classic Volvo in the last shot is my favourite. Where we lived in France had a classic car rally every autumn and we enjoyed going for a look at some of our favourite cars.

    1. That's nice then. Here all the cars are located in Launceston for a few night so the public can view them up close.

    1. Yes, they flash by when in the race but was good to see the cars stationary.

  5. A bit like those old Redex (??) round Australia rallies of years ago.
I think it was called Redex???
I remember the cars going through Moree when I was a kid - all very exciting.
All cars were absolutely filthy from the mud and dust - certainly not like your
clean looking cars as shown - ha ha.
Somebody I think called "Murray" was the champion driver of the day???
    Had some funny "nickname" ???
    Cheers

  11. Oh ok. I will check it out as well.
Yes, it rained yesterday with strong winds but ok here in Launceston in my area.
You can only keep your fingers crossed up your way because you have had enough rain to last for a long time.....well unless the farmers differ with me.
