Denison Beach, Bicheno.

Denison Beach is not too far from Bicheno on the East Coast of Tasmania.
You will see no 'chairs' to lay on, or umbrellas overhead - if you did it would be rare.  We Taswegians like to feel the sand between our toes and on our towels.  Those that don't like that feel do something else usually.   The beach is just a very short walk from the highway.

A lot of footsteps, lots of people but not a sole to be seen.

  1. How serene - beautiful! Taswegians, like our Scottish Glaswegians? I always figured that it was Tasmanians - just shows you my shallow knowledge of your fair isle.

  3. Foot prints everywhere? Where did everyone go? I'm sure they had a great time at the beach.

    1. One can see the footprints in the sand where people had walked, the wind or rain had not faded them at all at that point in time. It's autumn, people don't often lay on the beach then down here. We don't have heaps of people on our beaches, that's the way it is. The coastal areas usually each have a good beach if not several.

  4. No need for a beach cleaning/grooming machine there.

    1. You are right, and I expect they hardly ever have one.

    1. Was calm and quiet that day, and i expect most days but in summer there would be many people on that beach but not a heap.

  6. I should think by this time of year Denison Beach, Bicheno would be pretty deserted.
Still looks like a good place for summer and would be an ideal place to walk along and get some exercise sniffing in that lovely fresh salty air.
    Oh real bliss.

    1. You thought correct. I should imagine one could take a very long walk on the beach. Though it had been misty rain in the hills none at the beach with not a breath of wind...just one of those beaut Australian Autumn days.

    1. No you can't, most beaches are like that, to yourself except for summer.

    1. I'm used to the scenery, but I still appreciate what we have, and love to photograph it as often as possible...it's always changing, even if it's just the sky that changes.

    2. Cable Beach WA!
Have never been there but have seen the prices of the real estate and the cost of accommodation. God you need a mine of some sort to be a holidayer there, unless
      you love camping.
Plus the sunsets over the Indian Ocean there are supposedly one of the wonders of
the planet , seeing is believing.

  12. Can you swim in the ocean, or body surf? Or are there sharks and all that? Is it warm, the ocean? Isn't warm where I live. You freeze quickly if immersed. Six minutes, I hear, is all you have, due to the temperature of the water, to get out. They call it six minute water. I wish it were warmer.

    1. Yes you can swim all seasons. In summer the water temperature is about 15 to 18deg C. (59degF - 64degF) Winter about 12deg C (53.6degF)
Shouldn't think there would be a lot of surfing in that area, but nearby would be alright. Heard of no sharks in that area recently
