Tamar River, Launceston, Tasmania.

The Tamar River is a 70-kilometre (43-mile) estuary which eventually flows into Bass Strait in Northern Tasmania.  It's a muddy colour river at times in some places but the blue sky makes it appear bluer than it is.
This River mostly faces north so it's either early in the morning or early evening that one can capture a decent photo without the sun being in the way.  We always like to be home at that time, lucky for me the day this was taken we were late.

  2. I know early and later in the day are the best times to take photos, but like you, I am not usually out at those times, unless I am at work. Great photo.

    1. Thanks. You are correct on those times of day, then buildings during the day to get the dramatic shadow lines..but of course when we travel we have to take what we can, when we can.

  5. Good God - what I have missed in my travels - TASMANIA! Damn and bugger!
    Absolutely magnificent scenery.
I presume the small vineyard might be a "hobby" plot for someone's
own wine??? Or maybe delicious Grape Jam. My grandmothers and great aunts
were prolific jam makers and grape jam was the top of the list.
You certainly can't buy that delicious jam anymore at supermarkets!
    Cheers

    1. Did you not come to Tassie?
That is part of a larger Vineyard. There are many down that way. I don't eat jam other than fresh raspberry or blackberry jam which I used to make, due to not knowing anyone with excess of either I don't make now.
