The View from the Carpark.

There are several small car parks along the Mersey River in Devonport, Tasmania. Australia.
It's in one of these car parks we sit and view the ships passing, there are only a few. It's a peaceful place to sit in the car or go for a walk along the waters edge.

We still have a fair bit of business to do in Devonport since the passing of my father.  As the house sold in 3 days, there is no house to go to.  We have never lived in Devonport.

I made the graphic below.

  1. Is it too early to slip into my Scrooge mode yet? Baubles and festive wallpaper, maybe not yet. Stunning house with river and sea views, I guess. While I enjoy it myself, I am amazed at how many people just sit in car parks looking out to sea.

    1. Probably a bit early :)
'Tis well kept house and yes, lovely view of the river and Bass Strait as many houses have in Devonport, including the house I sold. (my late dads)
Oh I wonder all the time why on earth people sit and look at the sea, as I don't seem to do it myself apart from when I am filling in time when in that city.

    2. The surf and open water and just watching the waves is quite therapeutic. I've not been to Devenport but maybe for our next Tassie visit we will take the car on the ferry. Last time it was cheaper to fly and hire a car.

  3. Lovely views along the river, it must be very pleasant to watch the ships as they go up and down. Your graphic is a bit like my spinning cube - they are good fun to make.

Such lovely views from the car park. Very serene. That home is magnificent. I would surely hate to paint all that trim!

    1. Those flowers are pretty, and further down the river roses are growing which look lovely as well.

  6. That house is amazing! Especially the porches, though that's probably not what you call them.
The sign along the path caught my attention. Seems impossible that a ship passing by could cause that much wash. I'm used to lakes, not oceans.

    1. Ah! I tell you a story which is true about the wash from passing ships.
One time there was a lady sitting on the toilet which is on the bank next to the water, the tide was a higher tide than normal, when the ship sailed past the wash from the ship, washed the lady off the toilet :) yes, it's true..
