Watkins Extract of Lemon.

Amazing what one finds when cleaning out my late dads cupboards.  Watkins Extract of Lemon, must be 30 years old or more.  I discovered this can still be bought.  Was amused at the Alcohol content at 85% which still stands today.
Was wondering do many people use this Extract of Lemon in their cooking today!

  2. The extract of lemon is probably still good with all that alcohol content to preserve it.

  5. Amazing discovery but definitely the product is edible. Sometimes I use extract of lemon in my cuisine but more often fresh lemons.

  6. I remember when my mother used to by Watkins products, especially one call "Pain Oil". I have no idea what was in it, but it burned like crazy when applied. I have seen some of the Watkins products still at fairs, etc. The vanilla was always great. My first visit to your site, but I'll be back!

  7. Hello,

Well, with that amount of alcohol, we can think of no good reason not to use it......in positively everything! Surely, Lemon Drizzle Cake will take on an entirely new meaning with this addition?!

We are ashamed to say that we have almost fainted ourselves when clearing out cupboards and finding sell by dates in the previous decade!
