Devonport/Part of my way home!

Driving to come home from my dads or driving to go to dad in Devonport, this is what I see at Devonport, Tasmania, Australia.

There is Bass Strait which is a sea to Melbourne in the State of Victoria, and is rather shallow in places. There is a beach called Back Beach which is a beach for dogs.

Then around further is what is called The Bluff, it has a small beach, playground for children, barbecues for a picnic, a Caravan Park, a small outside Theater, a new Life Saving Club House (no photo) plus Restaurants, and a shop.

There is a bike track that goes forever along the picturesque beach from the Swimming Pool to over the Don River and on the Eastern side of Devonport.

Opposite the Children's playground is an Old People's Home plus a large sports area.

  2. Hello:

Such a wonderful piece of coastline. For some reason, difficult to place, it all looks so very different from anywhere known to us in Europe.

We trust you will have a good week ahead - still Sunday here!!

    1. From the photos I have seen of Europe the beaches here in Tasmania are very different.
We don't have chairs or lounges to lay on, we lay on the sand, or sit on the grass.

  6. I bet the kids like the playground. My favorite as a child was one outside the local zoo.

    1. I live on the top of a flat hill, and dad lives on top of a hill which is also flat and his house has a great view of the sea as I have mentioned before in some of my posts.
Great bike track, used to ride on it at weekends when we visited my parents years ago.

    1. The Back Beach/Dog Beach is an excellent beach for dogs, and there even cement stairs down to the sea. I know your dogs would just love it :)
