Tunbridge, Tasmania, Australia

Tunbridge is a town on the way to Hobart from Launceston located just off the midlands highway.
It was a stop over for coaches in years gone by when there were 3 Inns, stables and so on.
How times have changed.
The town is extremely quiet. There is apparently a Convict Trail one can view but due to the late drive through the town we saw not but one soul.

I did these photos in HDR, high dynamic range for a change.

Tunbridge Manor was fantastic piece of Tasmanian history in the centre of town and dominates the townscape. Built in the 1840, as a staging post for the early transport days, where the premises offered accommodation, meals, beverages and stabling for horses.
The building is a bit under the weather at the moment!

Bowerman's General Store a two-storey Georgian building with a five bay facade and slim columns.
This building has been restored and mostly likely a private residence these days.

The poor cottage, but the hedge is taken care of.

    1. Definitely could do with some work and make a nice home for someone. There are many places that need repairs in Tunbridge, but there are many homes that are lovely. Hugs M xox

    1. Some photos lend themselves to HDR very well, and often I like a dramatic effect.

  5. Interesting old buildings and I love the skies behind them. I hope someone rescues the cottage before the leaky roof ruins it.

    1. Let's hope someone does do the cottage up. The sky, different setting in HDR give different light on the sky, so hence a very dramatic effect or a light dramatic effect.

    1. That's nice, even though Tunbridge is some distance away.
The Background I made digitally using a clover leaf I made, then merged each leaf placing them in different areas on a transparent square, then made them into 1 tile :) I love fiddling.

    1. Let's hope you can get to come and see this amazing Island, and prepare to stay a few days longer so you can see a bit more. It's spread out and driving takes longer due to the terrain.
Yes, I suppose HDR does look a little like painting.

    1. The old general stores always had anything and everything you wanted, mostly all gone these days. Time changes most things.
